The NGO CHEM Trust voices concerns that the public may still not be adequately protected. “We are glad that this Efsa panel review now finally accepts that BPA exposure is likely to cause effects on the mammary gland, but there are still too many uncertainties,” says Gwynne Lyons, the group’s director. “For example, effects on metabolism are dismissed for the risk assessment. And of course, the potential cumulative effects from simultaneous exposure to other endocrine disruptors with similar adverse effects have been totally ignored.”
