The Endocrine Disruption Exchange TEDX
TEDX's mission is to prevent damage to individuals from the moment they are conceived through the balance of their lives by chemicals that can alter how their bodies are formed and function. TEDX has recently launch a new tool called Critical Windows of Development which is a unique interactive web page that pairs human development in the womb with laboratory research showing where and when low-dose exposure hormone disrupting chemicals results in altered health outcomes.

EU Chemicals Policy - REACH (The European Commission REACH website)
REACH is a new European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006). It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances. The new law entered into force on 1 June 2007.
The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances. At the same time, innovative capability and competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry should be enhanced. The benefits of the REACH system will come gradually, as more and more substances are phased into REACH.

Ever wondered what's in the hair spray, toilet bowl cleaner, or other household product you frequently use? The Household Products Database provides an easy way to find the chemical components. Search the database by product, ingredient, or the manufacturers' Material Safety Data Sheets. Each search provides the contents, health effects, and safety information on a wide range of household products used inwith cars, in homes, on gardensyards, and for personal and pet care. Database information is compiled from labels and company safety sheets.

Health Science Education web site. Areas for students, teachers, and scientists
supply links to abundant, age-specific materials that help explain connections
between the environment and human health.
Information on chemicals
The OECD Global Portal to Information on Chemical Substances, offers free
public access to information on properties and effects of chemical substances.
It is an integrated system that allows users to simultaneously search multiple
databases prepared for government chemical review programmes around the
world
Scorecard
This US web site provides information on releases from USA factories.
However, it also provides very useful detailed information on more than 11,000
chemicals. You can search for information by typing in the chemical's name (or
any common synonym) or the chemical's standard identification number (Chemical
Abstracts Service or CAS registry number).
UK Environment Agency Pollution Inventory
The Pollution Inventory collects information on releases of pollutants and transfers of waste off-site from businesses regulated by them in England and Wales. You can view data from the Pollution Inventory here, and find out what is in your back yard.
The e.hormone web site
The e.hormone web site, hosted and run by the Center for Bioenvironmental Research at Tulane/Xavier Universities, is a great site to find out more information on endocrine disrupting chemicals. Run by Professor John A. McLachlan's team in New Orleans it provides accurate, timely information and educational resources to keep the reader at the cutting edge of environmental signalling research.

This European Commission website tackles health issues related to environmental hazards (air pollution, allergy, chemical, endocrine dirupters, electromagnetic fields, etc.) You can also find a synopsis of EU research findings on EDCs here.

EHP is published by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and its content is free online. Print issues are available by paid subscription.
