About us
CHEM Trust's Vision is a world where humans and wildlife co-exist with a sustainable chemical industry, and where man-made chemicals play no part in causing impaired reproduction, deformities, disease, or deficits in neurological function.
CHEM Trust’s Mission Statement is to prevent man-made chemicals from causing long term damage to wildlife or humans by ensuring that chemicals which cause such harm are substituted with safer alternatives.
CHEM Trust is uniquely placed in the UK to address the chemicals and health issue and will fill an important niche vacated by WWF, Greenpeace (UK), and Friends of the Earth (England and Wales). We will build on their work and continue to make a real difference to human health, wildlife and the wider environment.
CHEM Trust is financially supported by WWF-UK, Greenpeace Environmental Trust (GET), the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and other charitable trusts. Our only vested interest is to protect humans and wildlife from the threat of harmful man-made chemicals. Elizabeth Salter Green and Gwynne Lyons both worked for WWF-UK for over ten years and between them have over 30 years of experience of the chemicals, health and environment issue.
CHEM Trust has quickly become a pivotal player in health and wildlife protection in the UK, the EU and globally. CHEM Trust is an active member of the UK Chemicals Stakeholder Forum.
